Goodbye to DFID’s Senior Livelihoods Adviser Penny Davies and Welcome to Arif Rahman PDF Print

On Wednesday 10 th February, CLP hosted a farewell dinner for DFID's Senior Livelihoods Adviser, Penny Davies, at which CLP staff along with representatives of district offices and partner IMOs came together to express their gratitude for all Penny has done for the Programme. Penny has been closely involved with CLP for more than three years but is now leaving Bangladesh for the UK where she is moving to a role in forest policy with DFID. Penny was accompanied by her husband Juan as well as DFID's new Livelihoods Adviser, Arif Rahman, and Anirban Bhowmik, Programme Manager of DFID's Pro-Poor Growth Team.

The following day Penny, Juan, Arif and Anirban visited Ulladange Kazirchar, a village in Shariakandi, Bogra where 239 char families assisted by the CLP have their homes. The party observed several programme activities including a village savings and loans meeting, raised plinths, homestead gardens, an examples of the Backyard Poultry Rearing and Fodder Cultivation programmes. The visit was hosted by CLP Team Leader Malcolm Marks and led by the Asset Transfer Manager, Mahbub Alam and Mozharul Islam, Market Development Manager.
